Optimal Vitamin D levels vary, but guidelines help identify sufficient, insufficient, and deficient states. Here’s a general guideline provided by the National Academy of Medicine:

  • Deficient: Less than 20 ng/mL (50 nmol/L)
  • Insufficient: 21-29 ng/mL (52.5-72.5 nmol/L)
  • Sufficient: 30-100 ng/mL (75-250 nmol/L)
